Adult Day & Alzheimer's Respite Program
Supervised care is provided in an approved, safe and comfortable setting during the day. This program is designed for older persons who may be frail, moderately handicapped, slightly confused, suffer from Alzheimer's disease, or have incapacitating chronic health conditions. Supervision, recreation, moderate exercise, and other social activities are offered, along with a hot meal and daily snacks.

Congregate Meals
A nutritionally balanced meal is available at 15 senior citizen centers one to five times per week, depending upon the site.

Disease Prevention & Health Promotion
A professional review of medications, senior exercise programs, and in-home counseling for seniors with mental health problems are provided.

Family Caregiver Support
Provides support groups, educational and resource counseling and assistance for caregivers of family/friends 60+ years old with physical or cognitive disabilities; and for grandparents raising children under 18 years old.

Home Delivered Meals
Hot or frozen, nutritionally balanced meals are delivered on specific days to homebound individuals.

Homemaker Services
Personal care and houskeeping is provided in the home by a trained, supervised homemaker when there is no other person available or capable of providing assistance.

Information & Assistance
Individuals are informed of available services and referrals are made to suit that particular individual's need. Follow-up contact is made to assure the service is received.

Legal Assistance
Legal advice and representation by a para-legal or attorney in solving civil problems of aging individuals or groups is provided through this service.

Minor Home Modifications
Minor adaptations are made to homes, including additions to or modifications of the home environment, in order to enable individuals to maintain independent living in their own homes, or to ensure health, safety or facilitate mobility.

Nursing Home Ombudsman
The Nursing Home Ombudsman service is a means to assure and promote long term care through the development of a system which identifies long term care problems and concerns, monitors the existing long term care system, promotes citizen, resident and community involvement, and advocates improved care on behalf of the long term care resident.

Outreach Services
This service is applied to seek out and identify isolated and hard to reach individuals in order to inform them of services available and to encourage their participation.

Recreation
Senior Citizen Centers are community focal points, and a source for leisure activities such as crafts, card playing, music, etc.

SHIP - State Health Insurance Assistance Program
The SHIP, also known as the Benefits Counseling Program, recruits and trains volunteers across the district to become Benefits Counselors. The SHIP volunteers provide older Kentuckians individual, one-on-one, assistance with the often complicated and confusing red tape of Medicare, Medicaid, and other public and private programs.

Transportation
This service enables individuals to travel to and from various community resources and programs. Older persons are helped to go to senior centers, doctors, shopping, etc.
